Xtrinsic Touch Sensing Software (TSS) 2.0

Add touch. With flexible libraries.

Xtrinsic Touch Sensing Software (TSS) 2.0 is Freescale’s second generation of innovative touch sensing software - now enabling 32-bit ColdFire V1 MCUs with touch functionality in addition to 8-bit S08 MCUs, providing cost effective and flexible solutions for Human Machine Interfaces.

In addition, release 2.0 has functions capable of improving low power and accuracy like the ability to use KBI and Input Capture interrupts combined with the ATL algorithm. Another new feature is the IIR filter that enhances the noise immunity. The standard software libraries are free to use, no NRE or royalty payments are required, and it can be downloaded from www.freescale.com/touch by agreeing to a standard license agreement.

Benefits of TSS 2.0

  • Touch added to one chip solution to reduce the overall system cost and size
  • Enables over 650 Freescale 8-bit S08 and 32-bit ColdFire V1 MCUs as a touch sensors
  • Free license software with low cost development tools
  • Enhances reliability by eliminating mechanical wear and tear
  • Reduce time to market and development costs
  • Increase lifetime of products
